Pediatric Dentist
About Us

Thank you for visiting our website to learn about Dr. Martin’s pediatric dental office. Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics(AAP), the American Dental Association(ADA) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry(AAPD) all recommend establishing a ”DENTAL HOME” for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.

Pediatric dentistry is a specialty that focuses on the growth and development of children from infants to teenagers. This specialty requires at least two years of additional training after dental school that gives the dentist additional education in the areas of prevention and treatment for children.

Before the first visit with Dr. Martin, we encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of a dental visit. By expressing good positive information to your child about dentistry, the first visit can be very rewarding. We ask that you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear or anxiety such as “needle”, “shot”, “pull”, “drill”, or “pain” . The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and non-frightening to the child.

We invite parents or guardians to stay with the child throughout the initial appointment and at any time when the child is being seen. Parents can stay with the child throughout the treatment and siblings are welcome to watch the examination and cleaning.

We strive to make each Childs visit in our office as comfortable and rewarding as possible. Our goal is to make all of our patients feel good about visiting the dentist and to teach them the importance of good oral health.

We strive to make each and every visit to our office a fun one!
